Complementary Organizations and Programs

If you are interested in supporting or volunteering with other local organizations and programs who support our unhoused neighbors, learn more about the following:

Abode Services

Abode Services works to end homelessness by assisting low-income, unhoused people, including those with special needs, to secure stable, supportive housing; and to be advocates for the removal of the causes of homelessness. Abode develops and implements innovative programs to end homelessness. The agency is built on the principles of Housing First, a proven approach that has demonstrated results far superior to the traditional approaches to homelessness.

Mission for the Homeless

Mission for the Homeless gives to all who ask. They work 365 days a year, 24/7 praying, serving, and providing for almost 200 of the East Bay’s most vulnerable. They provide housing (both permanent and temporary), food, cash, transportation, advocacy, life-saving medicine, and protection to the most feeble of mind and body — networking with local hospitals, advocacy groups, social workers, paramedics, among other outreach organizations to make sure the most quality and urgent care is provided.

Sidewalk Talk

Sidewalk Talk is a national organization teaching and practicing listening in public spaces to heal our lonely and disconnected world. Every moment of genuine connection adds to our wellness. There is a Fremont chapter.

The Mend Zone

The Mend Zone is a new group in Fremont offering mending and clothing repair services to those without the supplies, skills, or means to take on these tasks themselves. Everyone deserves the opportunity to wear clothing that fits properly, and is in good shape. Currently the Mend Zone services are available at the Niles Discovery Church and Irvington Presbyterian locations of Clean Start.
