Membership

Membership in Fremont for Everyone bestows voting rights for the purposes of approving resolutions, endorsements, and leadership elections, etc. A key component of the Membership Criteria is maintaining an active participation in the activities of Fremont for Everyone as stipulated in our ByLaws below:

5.1.1 History of participation. Within the last Six (6) months, has attended, organized, or led a Fremont for Everyone event or has engaged in one organizing action in support of a housing-focused initiative that aligns with Fremont for Everyone’s or California YIMBY’s goals (writing to / speaking at City Council, phone bank, petition drive, letter to the editor, etc)

Fremont for Everyone maintains an up-to-date Membership Roster based on the date of a Member’s most recent participation event.

Members are identified primarily by their email address, so please try to use the same email when registering for events. Any future ballots will only be sent out to the emails listed on the Membership Roster.

How to Log Participation

At each official Fremont for Everyone Event, a Member’s participation will be AUTOMATICALLY logged based on the provided email address.

Members can also self-report their participation below.

Whenever a vote is called, Members will be allowed the opportunity to retroactively self-report participation dates.

Quarterly Membership Renewal

In order to provide a streamline process for updating and maintaining this Membership Roster, we will be rounding to the nearest Financial Quarter, which is defined as:

Q1 = January 1st - March 31st
Q2 = April 1st - June 30th
Q3 = July 1st - September 30th
Q4 = October 1st - December 31st

Membership will officially commence in the financial quarter (Q1, Q2, Q3, & Q4), in which the last participation event occurs (the "qualifying quarter"). The Member will then be eligible to vote within the next two (2) financial quarters following that last participation event (the "expiring quarter").

In order to maintain active Membership beyond the expiring quarter, the Member must conduct an additional participation event prior to the expiring quarter.

Whenever a Member achieves at least two (2) participation events in single calendar year, they are then eligible to vote for the entire calendar year.

By way of example:

Alex has an engagement event on October 1st, 2021. Therefore, the qualifying quarter is Q4 - 2021. Alex is then eligible to vote until the end of Q2 - 2022, which is June 30th, 2022.

Alex has an additional engagement event on March 15th, 2022. Therefore, the new qualifying quarter is Q1 - 2022. Alex is then eligible to vote until the end of Q3 - 2022, which is September 30th, 2022.

Alex has another additional engagement event on March 17th, 2022. Although the qualifying quarter is still Q1 - 2022, because Alex now has two (2) engagement events in 2022, he/she/they is eligible to vote until December 31st, 2022.
